Oodi Library

Helsinki, Finland
Designed by ALA Architects

The Oodi Central Library feels alive the moment you first catch sight of it in the center of Helsinki, Finland. The wooden façade sweeps upward like the bow of a ship, hovering above you as you approach. Inside you can sit and read in the soft glow of natural light while overlooking the Finnish Parliament across the square.

The project was led by Antti Nousjoki, Juho Grönholm, and Samuli Woolston from ALA Architects, who envisioned a library that served as a "living room" for the citizens of Helsinki. Oodi is not just a building; it’s a symbol of innovative design and community spirit.
